Streamlining Life

In January of this year, I chose the word streamline as my word for the year. I’m in my ninth month (hmm…just like pregnancy) and am trying to be highly intentional and strategic, both personally and professionally.

It seems that empty nesting really didn’t begin until this past May, when Grant moved out to begin his life in Kansas. The finality of his move set in and Rob and I realized that we are now in the empty nest. I’ll be honest and say that on many levels I have felt very lost. A traveler without a compass. I have had to ask myself, “Where is my True North?” Yes, I am still a mother. Yes, I still talk to them a lot. But, they are building their lives and moving on. Now, I have to move on.

Can you do me a small favor?

I’m hoping you can help me, once again (smile). Having taken some time off over the past three years, both to finish my MA and then help my mother, I’m working diligently to rebuild and reshape my writing and speaking. I believe wholeheartedly that I have been called + I am crazy passionate about being a communicator—as I’ve said before, I sense I am a mouth in the body of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 12). So I am certain of this one thing: for me, True North, means moving towards these two passions.

The bottom line for me, and I bet you feel the same, is that we all want to be the most effective we can be.

This is where I need you.
