Sweet Lord Jesus! During worship yesterday, David M. Edwards, our worship leader, led the congregation in this song. Now, I know, it has probably been around for years, but it was the first time I had ever heard it. All I can say is, “Wow.” Downloaded it immediately from ITunes. It is the song of my hour. Just read through these words. A true yearning prayer to our Lord:
May Your voice be louder
May Your voice be clearer
Than all the others
Than all the others
May Your face be dearer
May Your words be sweeter
Than all the others
Than all the others in my life
Please keep my eyes
Fixed on You
Please root my heart
So deep in You
Keep me abiding
Keep me abiding
Keep me abiding
That I may bear fruit
May Your presence be truer
May Your presence be nearer
Than all the others
Than all the others
May Your light burn brighter
May Your love move deeper
Than all the others
Than all the others in my life.
Need I say more?
After teaching to a beautiful group of women on Thursday night, we concluded one thing: we need to hear the voice of Jesus above all others. Then, this song.
This is my next change, my earnest prayer, the deepest cry of my heart, and the only true need I have: I want to give triune God my full attention. I haven’t done this, I know it. So, here, in my 52nd year, I want to fix my gaze on the ONE TRUE GOD. He holds everything in the tender palm of His strong hand. I want HIM more than all the others.

Hey Janell, I hope that we all can learn to focus our hearts on the Lord more completely than we do. So are you and Rob still attending WRPC? Hope you are doing well.
Paul
Hello Paul! So good to hear from you. Isn’t this the most incredible praise/prayer?
We must fix our gaze on the ONE and ONLY True God!
No, Rob and I are worshipping and growing at First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk.
God truly led us. It was a painful move as we love so many of our dear church family at WRPC.
Please keep us posted on your life, family, and ministry!
I graduate in May, how about you? 🙂
Blessings beyond measure, Janell
I am happy to hear that you guys are growing in worship, I know that it can be difficult but when the Lord tells you to go, you go. I completed my degree in December and by God’s grace I graduated Magna Com Laude. It is just going to cost to much for me to make it to the actual graduation. I have started helping with the youth group at WRPC and applied for the assistant youth pastor position. So right now its waiting on the Lords timing.
Live Long, Pray Hard, Die Well!
Paul
SO PROUD OF YOU, Paul. Well done.
I will be praying for the strategic “place” of ministry God has for you.
Blessings!
