Q: Is cultivating gratitude a rhythm in your daily life?

Research proves the power of cultivating gratitude in your daily life. Melissa Madeson writes, “Gratitude is more than just a positive feeling. It is a complex cognitive and emotional phenomenon that involves recognizing how other individuals contribute to our well-being and enhance our appreciation of positive outcomes in life” (https://positivepsychology.com/neuroscience-of-gratitude/). This week’s guest, Wendy Speake, encourages us to start with memorizing Psalm 100.

Cultivating Gratitude

Psalm 100 (The Voice Translation)

“Raise your voices;
    make a beautiful noise to the Eternal, all the earth.
2 Serve the Eternal gladly;
    enter into His presence singing songs of joy!

3 Know this: the Eternal One Himself is the True God.
    He is the One who made us;
    we have not made ourselves;
    we are His people, like sheep grazing in His fields.

4 Go through His gates, giving thanks;
    walk through His courts, giving praise.
    Offer Him your gratitude and praise His holy name.

5 Because the Eternal is good,
    His loyal love and mercy will never end,
    and His truth will last throughout all generations.

While traveling, Wendy sat next to a wise woman, Cheryl, who shared how once a week, on Wednesdays, she takes “an ask fast.” She exchanges pleading with God for praising God. In this conversation, Wendy invites us to join her in November 2026 for “An Ask Fast.”
