The present pain of your heartrift begs the questions, “What just happened?” and “Why is this happening?” The very first step in becoming “WHOLE,” is to welcome God into the whys. Somehow, His gentle presence softens the blow of hurtful words and negative narratives. Here in Phase 1, we learn that “above all else,” we must guard our heart because it influences absolutely everything in our lives (Proverbs 4:23).
The past fault lines—your past hurts—ache to understand, “Where did all this pain come from?” Healing happens in layers. Phase 2 examines, processes and makes meaning of these oft-confounding layers, known in The Heartlift Method as your “History of Hurts.” As you work through your “heartsift” and ultimately, the life-changing “heartshift”—your heart will awaken to truth. This truth leads to true freedom.
Our future freedom depends on how we answer one question, “Will I ever trust again?” In this third phase, you will look at the words within the five-letter word, trust, and learn all about the three-fold cord of trusting in God: God is trustworthy, God is dependable, and God is safe. By God’s grace and the hard work of Phase 3, the power of your heartlift comes and helps you re-author your story.

“I really cannot say enough about Janell and how much she has helped our family. She has met with each of us individually and collectively as a family. She has given us the tools to tackle some very deep-rooted issues in our family lineage and helped us navigate a ‘new manual’ for our family. She continues to be a source of constant help and support to both me & my family. Countless times I’ve wanted to quit. Healing wounds of the past can seem impossible, but Janell kept calling back to me. She never gave up on me or my family. I highly recommend her to any family. She won’t like me adding this, but I’m doing it anyway. I always say to myself, ‘Everybody needs a Janell.'”

“Last year, I faced severe trauma. I was led to a small display with books and devotionals, cute calendars and such. The cover of your book caught my eye. Without digging deeper, I hastily brought it to the checkout counter. I started to read. The words were just words. It sat for a year on a shelf tucked away. Fast forward to this month. Not by coincidence shortly after a new traumatic experience in a close relationship, I dug your book out. The words were no longer words. I had an amazing connection with God as I sat in my waiting room. He spoke to me and I felt such comfort. I didn’t want to leave. Tomorrow I will finish the last chapter, Smile at Your Future. I’m already smiling. You have given me some incredible tools to overcome my heartaches. I felt like you were there sitting with me, encouraging me every step of the way.”
